Our Beginning
about BSG

Building Services Group, Inc. was founded in 1983 by Don Eckes, a former school teacher and coach. That same year, Building Services Group, Inc. started cleaning St. John Grade School in Little Chute, its first school account. By 1985 Building Services Group, Inc. began working for the Kaukauna Area School District and Little Chute School District. Since that time Building Services Group, Inc. has grown to be a leader in contract cleaning services for school districts in Northeast Wisconsin.

Building Services Group, Inc. currently employs approximately 300 individuals, with most being full time employees. We currently provide cleaning services at 17 different public school districts and other private schools, totaling over 100 school and commercial locations. The success of Building Services Group, Inc. is credited to the employees working at each building. Building Services Group, Inc. consistently achieves low turnover by offering all full time employees meaningful benefits, such as health, dental, short term disability and long term care insurance, 401(k), vacation and holiday benefits. These benefits have allowed our staff a lifelong profession they can be proud of. The commitment of our employees has resulted in an excellent reputation for our company. The company's continued growth has occurred primarily through word of mouth.

Although 83% of our business is school cleaning, we also clean many commercial and industrial facilities. Understanding the challenges of maintaining educational facilities has been key to becoming a successful contractor. Unlike many commercial and industrial clients, school accounts often do not stop running until after 9p.m. at night. This often presents enormous challenges that many contractors cannot overcome. We strive for our employees to represent themselves, the company, and the school district in a positive light while often working in a public environment. We believe this image should not be undervalued as visitors often only have one chance to make assumptions about what the district represents as demonstrated by the cleanliness of their facilities and the individuals they employ.
